Temporary Disinfectant Conversion - City of Round Rock
May 27, 2025
The City of Round Rock will temporarily be converting the disinfectant used in its water distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine. The chlorine rinse is scheduled to start on May 27, 2025. The city will begin returning to chloramines on June 24, 2025, and it is anticipated the system will be completely returned to chloramines by June 26, 2025.
The City of Round Rock is undergoing this temporary conversion as a routine distribution system maintenance procedure. We are coordinating this change with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
During this period, you may experience taste and odor changes inside your water system due to the change in disinfectant.
